COMMON BEAUTY BLUNDERS – YOU NEED TO STOP DOING THESE NOW!

02:21,7 Comments

Have you been religiously following a strict beauty routine and fail to see the clear skin that you have been so devotedly working for...it may be time to review your entire skin care regime. Here are some common blunders that you may be guilty of committing - chances are you’ll find at least one that you can change and achieve that dream skin.

·         PICKING AT A PIMPLE
You have been told this a million times and yet just can’t resist that urge to burst that inflamed monster? Well, go ahead but only if you are ready for an infection that may spread under your skin and that ugly dark scar! If not, keep your hands at a distance from that pimple.

What you should be doing -Use an anti-acne cream on the pimples and keep your face clean to avoid frequent breakouts. Consult a dermatologist for persistent acne problems.

·         NOT KNOWING YOUR PRODUCTS
Came across an awesome face wash or face cream and just bought it without checking if it suits your skin type? Do you use skin products without full knowledge about the product? You may be ignorantly exposing your skin to risk of damage.

What you should be doing -Make an informed choice when it comes to what you put on that beautiful and sensitive skin if you want to avoid irritation, acne, rashes and have a flawless skin. Also keep a track of the expiry date of your skin care products to avoid using them past their shelf life.

·         SLEEPING WITH MAKEUP ON
Feeling too lazy to clean your face after a long tiring day? It is convenient to sleep without removing that makeup but what about that dirt and oil accumulated on your skin throughout the day! Letting the makeup stay all night will only cause blocking of pores and eventually will lead to breakouts.
What you should be doingFollow a bedtime skin care routine of removing the makeup with a good makeup remover followed by washing your face with a face wash and then moisturizing it with a night cream suited for your skin. For days when you feel way too lazy use a disposable wet wipe before hitting the bed.

·         TOO MUCH OF EXFOLIATION
You may think that exfoliating your face almost daily will give you that flawless skin you dream of but it is time to bust that myth. Over exfoliation may prove highly damaging in the long term as it causes removal of too much of the top skin layer that acts as a protective barrier against environmental toxins and sun damage. Over scrubbing may also lead to oily skin as too much of exfoliation speeds up skin’s oil production as a natural repair mechanism to balance the damage.

What you should be doingExfoliating your skin twice or thrice a week is sufficient for perfect skin care routine.

·         USING DIRTY MAKEUP BRUSHES
Brushes tend to develop bacteria if they remain unclean for a long time. Usage of dirty bushes passes these bacteria on to the skin and may cause skin infection.

What you should be doing Wash your brushes regularly, specially the foundation brush. It really does not take much time or energy. Stop sharing brushes if you want to avoid sharing possible skin infections. Invest in a good brush and replace it after prolonged usage.

·         NOT SLEEPING ENOUGH
Ladies it is called beauty sleep for a reason! Lack of sleep shows on your skin making you look pale and tired along with those under eye circles.

What you should be doing – Get minimum 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sound sleep daily. Eat healthy and exercise regularly to get a good night’s sleep. Avoid caffeinated drinks and oily, spicy food just before bed.

·         SLEEPING ON A COTTON PILLOW CASE
It may sound lame but those lovely floral cotton pillowcases may be silently damaging your skin. The cotton fabric may feel harsh against your skin and the friction caused between the pillow case and your skin can damage the protective top layer of your skin and wipe off that night care product that you religiously apply hoping for a healthy rejuvenated skin.

What you should be doing - Switch over to satin or silk pillowcases.  You will love the way they feel against your skin. Alternatively, use a fabric softneron your cotton pillow cases.

·         UNHEALTHY DIET
You may use tons of skin care products and follow a strict beauty routine, but as long as you don’t eat healthy all your efforts for that gorgeous, healthy skin will surely go waste. Nothing reflects more on your skin than your dietary habits. A healthy diet will automatically bring that natural glow on your skin whereas an unhealthy diet will reflect on your skin in the form of acne, dullness, etc.

What you should be doing РEat healthy and make sure you include a lot of veggies and salads in your diet. You may love oily and spicy food but it is time to break up with them. Clich̩d as it may sound, do not forget water. Drink a lot of water if you want those toxins out of your system.

·         TAKING TOO HOT SHOWERS
Don’t we all love those long hot showers in winters! Well, your skin absolutely hates them. The hot water that seems so relaxing robs your skin of all the essential oils and moisture leaving it exposed and dry.

What you should be doing  Use warm water instead of hot if you want to maintain the moisture level of your skin and not leave it dry and flaky.

10 Simple Tips For Fabulous Flawless Skin

00:55,2 Comments

Does your heart die a little every time you see that airbrushed model puckering her pink, glossy lips, and her skin looking as if it’s been specially manufactured at a shop that boasts of super-awesome skin? Join thousands of women if it does. Just to let you know, getting flawless skin isn’t as impossible as the little pessimist in your head is telling you. We share with you 10 tips to get flawless skin that will help transform your skin into the breathtaking vision you have in mind.

Simple Tips for Flawless Skin

1. Eat Healthy:

You’ve heard it a million times before, so there must be some truth to it, don’t you think? The lesser fried and processed foods you eat, the lesser your skin has to work to keep it oil-free and healthy. It’s up to you now.

2. Cleanse Well:

At the risk of sounding like an overrun fairness cream commercial, dirt, grime and pollution can indeed leave your skin looking dull and lifeless. Your skin needs a rigorous cleansing regime with the right products to ensure that it remains clean and supple.

3. Exfoliate Like A Boss:

Apart from daily cleansing, your skin needs to rid itself of all the constantly-accumulating dead skin, dirt and grime that simple cleansing cannot get rid of. Hence, exfoliating with a good scrub (we suggest walnut or apricot) at least once every two days is absolutely necessary.

4. Pamper Your Skin:

The best way to show your skin that you love it is to pamper it as much as you can. Apart from following a regular skincare regime, regular clean-ups, massages and such treatments will help increase blood circulation and refresh your skin.

5. Drink To Your Heart’s Content:

Fluids are the elixir of our body systems. Whether it’s just water or juices from a bunch of fresh fruits, drink as much as you can and as much as you want to. Hydration is the key for well-nourished, soft and glowing skin.

6. Hide from the Sun:

There’s no real point of helping your skin so much from the inside if you’re not going to proactively also help it from the outside. Cover yourself when you’re out in the afternoon sun. If you need to soak up the sun, do it early in the morning when the harmful UV rays aren’t yet out.

7. Clean Your Hair:

Sometimes, bumps, acne and other skin problems can be caused due to dandruff from the hair coming into contact with the skin. So, wash your hair with a medicated anti-dandruff shampoo to take that extra step towards healthy skin.

8. Go Natural:

This is another piece of advice that you’ve probably heard so many times, that you doubt its authenticity. Well, don’t. Natural skincare products are definitely safer than chemical ones for the simple reason that the chances of side effects with them is drastically low compared to synthetic ones. They can be considered as the best beauty tips for flawless skin.

9. Use Skincare Products Judiciously:

Just because you’re using natural products does not mean you go overboard. Give your skin a breather once in a while. Ditch that all-natural mineral makeup and go natural. Your skin will thank you; that’s a guarantee.

10. Don’t Stress So Much:

You can do all of the above and still be fretting over why your skin isn’t as flawless as all those ads and this post said it would be. Do you know why? It’s because you’re stressing over the fact that it isn’t. Stress causes excess oil secretion, which in turn, causes your skin to absorb more dirt that in turn leads to skin problems. You do the math now.
Remember, the most beautiful part of you is not what you look like, but what you are within. Inner radiance is what reflects on the outside, so as long as you’re happy on the inside, nothing can stop your skin from flaunting it.
